CAPT (Child Accident Preventions Trust) have launched a new campaign to reduce the number  of children accidentally poisoned in their own home.

70 children under 5 are rushed to A&E every day with suspected poisoning. 15 are admitted to hospital. While most survive their ordeal unscathed, some young children will undergo multiple operations and long-term treatment.

The steps to prevent accidental poisoning are simple ones. Parents need to be aware of the dangers lurking in their bathroom, under the kitchen sink, on their bedside table, or in their handbag on the floor. Then they can take simple steps to move them out of sight and reach of young children.
